I’m pretty particular about what my child eats. I give a little here and there. But one thing I don’t budge on is sweets. I personally believe we introduce candy and sugars into children’s diets at too early of an age. Most doctors and dieticians will recommend waiting till a child is at least 4 before introducing them to candy and sweets (longer if possible).
Hard or chewy candies are a choking hazard, and giving your child other treats like chocolate can contribute to poor eating habits as they grow up.
Candy is chock-full of empty calories, and you want to make sure your child eats more nutrient-packed foods. Because eating habits and tastes are learned early, what you offer your child now will affect them for the rest of their life.
Your child will figure out soon enough the appeal of sweets, but you can help them make smart choices. If you want to give your cold something sweet, safe and healthy options are fruit, yogurt, frozen yogurt, pudding, etc.
Help your child learn healthy habits early in!
This morning I was reminiscing back to our weekend in Vegas. It was a short trip but so much fun. Packing for the trip I was in serious panic as to what I was going to be able to wear out to a nice dinner. I hadn’t bought any nice maternity clothes. I had casual thingS like t-shirts and jeans. I literally went through my entire closet and I had only one dress that would stretch over my belly and not look like I was a piece of meat getting shoved through a tube! Not to mention my insecurities kicked in so I shot down a few dresses that were probably wearable but I just wasn’t comfortable in them.
Soon to be moms……did you know regular exercisers are 75% less likely to need a forceps delivery, 55% less likely to have an episiotomy, and up to 4x less likely to have a C-section! 💡
I’m 18 weeks pregnant this week! I feel like my belly is getting bigger by the minute. 😂 I’ve put on 10lbs so far. My doctor tells me that’s the perfect amount for someone my size and age. 💪🏻
Before I was a mom I was rarely ever sick. Id occasionally get a stuffy nose here and there. But when I told people I was sick, it was usually to get out of going somewhere or doing something.
I’m one of those crazy moms who is really cautious about what they eat/drink while pregnant. My child can’t make healthy decisions yet so I make the healthiest choices I can for them. Below is a list of things I personally choose to avoid while pregnant:
Pharmacists…..these people can be your best friend when it comes to information. I’m lucky because my best friend actually IS a pharmacist. 😂 But really, it’s shocking how many people don’t realize they should be asking their pharmacist the questions they are asking their doctors.
Laziness never fails me when pregnant. I don’t mean lazy as in I don’t want to get off the sofa. I’m referring to the tie your shoes laziness. 😂
Do you ever notice you miss things the most when you can’t have them?
Have you ever dreaded going to workout…..got yourself there…..and come out thinking, yeah that still sucked? 😂 That’s not what you thought I was going to say was it 🤪 But seriously. Some days when I am not feeling the gym, I drag myself there and afterward I’m like oh yeah that was great I’m glad I went. Other days I think to myself, that was horrible and I’m still annoyed I’m not just sitting on my sofa.
